Milan Rocen: “Montenegro attaches great importance to the deepening of friendly relations with Azerbaijan”

Azerbaijan – Montenegro Cultural and Economical Center organized event on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev and 10th anniversary of the recognition of Montenegro's independence by Azerbaijani side, in the national theatre of Montenegro with the support of the “Azmont Investments” company and the Diplomatic Mission of Azerbaijan in Montenegro.

 

Chief Political Advisor to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs of Montenegro Milan Rocen made a speech at te event. He said: “Today Azerbaijan is very well known in every corner of Montenegro. Azerbaijan is a country with an ancient history and culture. Azerbaijan is a birthplace of Dede Korkut and Huseyn Javid. The Rothschild’s, the Nobel’s lived in Baku throughout history. Montenegro attaches great importance to the deepening of cooperation and friendship with Azerbaijan in all fields.”

 

Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Azerbaijan in Montenegro Seyran Mirzazade informed participants about the road Azerbaijan went through after regaining independence. First years of the independence was accompanied with aggression of Armenia towards Azerbaijan by occupying 20 % Azerbaijani territories, war between two countries which made more than 1 billion Azerbaijanis to become refuges, economic collapse, political chaos and social catastrophe but in 1993, at the insistence of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev returned to power at country's desperate situation and having survived the disaster, laid the foundation for future development and progress.

For giving exceptional contribution to the formation and strengthening of the statehood of Azerbaijan, national leader Heydar Aliyev's birthday every year is celebrated and his memory is honored on the 10th of May.

 

After the speeches slide about relations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro was demonstrated.

 

Event finished with the concert of the baritone Javid Samadov; the winner of the “Muslum Magomayev” contest with accompany of Nargiz Samadova in piano.
